Tooth loss is a concern encountered by everyone, no matter what the age. It is because it can greatly affect a person’s daily functions. People with tooth loss can suffer greatly due to difficulty in eating and speaking. Aside from that, it doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing, making them feel insecure and shy away from smiling. If any action is not taken, the gap between teeth can even worsen.
Full dentures are required when all upper or lower set of teeth have been lost. They are a complete set of teeth integrated on a plastic base, which has been molded to fit over the gums. Full dentures connect and attach firmly to the gums through a suction effect between the dentures and the gums.
The dentures fabrication process starts with making a series of impressions of your jaw with the use of a mold. Afterwards, a replica of your jaw is made by using plaster or wax. From the jaw replica, the new set of dentures will be cast based on the color, shape and fit that are suitable for you. Once the dentures have been fabricated, certain adjustments and modifications will be made to ensure that it operates correctly. After a while, you will get used to wearing removable dentures and it will feel more natural.

Implant Supported Dentures:
Implant Supported Dentures are either fixed or removable replacement teeth that are anchored to implants. The implants are surgically attached or connected to the jawbone with a screw or bar, fixing them permanently on your gums. Two to four implants are needed in the upper or lower jaw to be able to hold a set of dentures. This type of treatment is considered to be the most stable and durable compared to the others. Generally speaking, the success rates of implants reach 98% and are known to last a lifetime. Not all patients are eligible for dental implants as they should first pass certain health requirements.
Fortunately, modern dental advancement offers multiple solutions to the problem of missing teeth. These include Removable Partial Dentures (RPD), dental bridges, and dental implants. The removable dentures are considered to be the most affordable and it has two types: Metal based RPD and Non-metal based RPD (VALPLAST).
Removable Partial Dentures are used if a few teeth are still remaining. Like full dentures, they are also detachable and have a plastic base that is attached to the gums. Please remember, it will take some time before you can adjust to your partial dentures.
